Check if you qualify

A lot of Australian businesses are just one person and an ABN. That is a sole trader. It is a real business, and it is one of the structures we ask you to select — not a category we hide behind “companies only”.

The product is still an unsecured business loan from $50,000 to $3 million. See if you qualify .

Structure is a fact, not a hurdle

In the check we ask whether you are a sole trader, a company, a trust, or something else. Later, in the application, we ask in what capacity you are applying — including sole trader. That is so we know who we are talking to. It is not a filter that drops sole traders on the floor.

What does filter is the same as for everyone else: trading under three months, or turnover that cannot support the product. How to qualify and how much you can borrow from turnover are the two pages that matter more than the structure label.

No collateral, including for sole traders

Sole traders are often told they must offer the house. That is a different product. No-collateral business loans is the version we run. The qualification check does not ask for property or equipment as security.

Credit history and a sole-trader application

A sole trader is not a separate legal entity from its owner, so do not assume personal and business circumstances can always be put in separate boxes. If credit history is a concern, read business loans with bad credit. You can still start with turnover and trading history, but any later assessment may ask for more information.

What to have ready

ABN, a monthly turnover figure, how long you have been trading, and what the funds are for. If you use a separate business bank account, we will ask that later — it is a yes/no, not a document upload in the first pass. As with every other applicant, the initial check is business and contact information only.
